Death of a Salesman (Theatre in Auction Show)
Kevin Bolduc (Director):
Also saw Salesman
super happy with how things went
so proud of everyone involved in production
very appreciative of CT members who brought their A-game
door issue…
suggest sharing black box stage measurements for directors
have a concrete plan before auditions
schedules, set design, rehearsal groups, etc.
raised over $2800 for Pine Street Inn!
would recommend having assistant director
especially in audition room
future TiA directors should consider how line-heavy roles are
Loman family put in much effort!
didn’t do a lot of character work
homework outside of rehearsal room could have been valuable
Caleb Perkins (AD):
none
Hal Levin (TD):
I am so proud of the actors, creative team and tech for an amazing 3 shows and such an efficient strike! I thought that the whole TDing process went very well which is mostly thanks to the wonderful people I worked with. My ATDs were crucial to the success, they dedicated a lot of time and filled in the gaps in my knowledge/skills, leading to a pretty balanced TD team for tech. I also am very grateful for the understanding and flexibility other creative team members showed regarding our tech capabilities when compromises had to be made. The most chaotic point felt like the photoshoot tech to me, mainly because of my inexperience in hair&makeup and costumes, but I had a lot of tech show up and help out which made it possible. I also think it is very important to know crucial blocking for actors, so if I had to do it again I would be aware of the SL door earlier, my b for misunderstanding. Overall, I had an amazing time and am very grateful for everyone's dedication and understanding.
Mai Nguyen (Producer):

first time stage managing
really enjoyed it
a lot harder than expected
even more than TDing for Mermaid???
very fun
lucky for an agreeable cast
keeping texts open
Kevin was awesome director
met with Kevin week 1 after readthrough
settle time conflicts during first week
didn’t have to meet again
use classes and other recurring conflicts as the basis of schedule
concept of soft- and hard-offbook
utilize ASMs
two is probably needed
more blocking to ASMs in beginning
then line notes, blocking, giving lines
then one person in audience, one person backstage
rehearsal reports are recommended
not a lot of cast bonding
