CT Check Outs :,)

Anne

  • Emma

    •  This show helped me get through hard times and it was really meaningful in that aspect

    • Strived for kindness in the rehearsal room

    • Be in tune with actors emotions, avoid burn out

    • Great relationship with Carly really eased the process

    • Made sure the cast felt involved always

    • Learn to put a foot down

    • Flexibility is key, communication is key

    • Setting an excited example

    • Choose a show you love, not something you think others will love

  • Carly

    •  I had such a wonderful experience working on Anne and I could not ask for a better show to wrap up my troupe career with. Our cast, crew, and creative team were stellar from start to finish. Working in the rehearsal room was so fun and Emma did such a stellar job creating a warm, welcoming, funny, but hard-working environment. I could not have asked for a better cast, they put their hearts and souls into these characters, and watching them grow was a joy. The same is said for our crew! There is a gap in tech knowledge from the pandemic and Claire did an AMAZING job teaching techies, letting them flourish, and all the tech elements were outstanding. The tech made this show come to life. Natalie is a queen producer and the promotion, tik toks, and house decorations for Anne were amazing. It was also wonderful to watch her APs learn and invest in the show too.

    • In terms of room for improvement and difficulties, I would still love a bit of expansion in our SM guide specifically with SM-ASM responsibility splits. This was my first time having an ASM and I would have loved a bit of guidance on how that really should go. As well, the SM keys don't include the booth keys and that proved to be a bit of a difficulty here and there during tech week. Finally, and I am sure this will be different for next year, not having to book rooms for rehearsal a week before would have been a big help in easing any room reservation conflicts or funky rehearsal spaces.

    • I loved working on this show and I feel so grateful to have done so :)))

    • Thank you to everyone for everythingggggg you are all amazing :)

  • Claire

    •  A very daunting experience, first big leadership experience, but a wonderful experience

    • So grateful to everyone involved

    • Had a lot of tech drop :(

    • But everyone that stuck around we so committed and talented

    • Planning ahead! Contingency plans!

    • Learned to accept thank yous :’)

    • Such a collaborative experience

    • Techies felt collaborative, took weight off my shoulders

    • Check ins are so vital “a happy cast is a happy show”

    • ATD can elevate shows incredibly

  • Nat

    •  the process went wonderfully! Our creative team had a group chat that we used frequently; having that level of easy and constant communication made for smooth collaboration between all of us. It was a benefit that we were all friends prior to the process, but I have to give Emma, Carly, and Claire so much credit for being incredible at their jobs and being wonderful team members.

    • My producing team was AMAZING. When I produced “Mamma Mia,” I ended up essentially as a team of one, and that experience made me a bit apprehensive coming into “Anne.” Renata, Daphne, and Sophia were legitimately so helpful and driven; I am so ecstatic that all three of them have expressed interest in producing in the fall. They were on top of tasks, responsive, cooperative, and had lots of creative vision. They made this experience so enjoyable for me and I’m so glad I was able to produce this show with them in my last semester with Troupe.

    • We sold out the show two nights, had a beautiful lobby, did lots of fun promo, had a kickass playbill, and have an abundance of great photos from the photoshoot, production, and post-show. The biggest issue that I dealt with was the purchase orders. Even though our wood and paint order was submitted almost two weeks before build week began, I made the rookie mistake of not triple checking with SAO that they had actually placed the order. By the time I was reminded to check on that, it was too late for a proper wood and paint drop off, meaning myself, Claire, Priya, and Katie had to spend an inordinate amount of time in the Space during build week. Please do stress to future Producers that you can never take SAO on their word and always need to triple check that they are doing things when they say they will!! Ah!!!

    • Overall, I am so glad that I had the chance to produce such a lovely show with such a magnificent team. What a great way to end my Stage Troupe career :’)
